Rouse hill accomodation hotel
Arriving at the venue, we were surprised to notice that hardly anyone else was there. The reception staff were friendly. We were told the next tour was in an hour but that we were free to wander around until then. We were warned about the red bellied and brown snakes, and indeed there were signs around the fields saying 'stomp loudly', which would presumably frighten the snakes from attacking anyone. We visited the old schoolhouse, which was just as well, as it wasn't included in the main tour. Returning to reception we were required to surrender our handbags before going on the tour. The tour guide drove us to the main house, which was the primary attraction, but only two rooms were available to view, and as these were roped off and there was virtually no lighting it was almost impossible to see anything in the gloom just from peering through a doorway. The upstairs had one room that could be viewed but we were told it was probably too dangerous to go up there as the floors were rotten.
